Here is what is often called a hammer stone. Found on a hillside over looking a river and just after a fire cleared the area. I was choking on smoke and picking up Indian artifacts as fast as I could stuff my pockets.

that does look like a hammer stone. I have a few of these and I used to have an ax head I found when I was about 7 years old but I lost it... also found an 8 inch long perfect spear point around the same time. lost it too.

Looks like a rock just saying.. I think it may have been a while since ya been out.. Lol. Yep, it's been a long while since I've been out. Need to get out the the "boss" at home wants me to do things around the house, entertain her and keep me away from "rowdy friends" who are a "bad influence" ...like you?  She may change her mind if you put me on some BIG gold like you find. She is not impressed by my crumbs. I couldn't capture the hammer stone with a picture. Got a nice groove all around it. Anyone wanting to get out this weekend better do it on Saturday. Cold moving in fast, they say. We getting any snow, Ywevis (weather man)? |
