So it's illegal to build a fishing pond at the end of the creek? Everyone does it

Actually yes it is illegal to modify a stream or creek even if you own the property in SC without permission and permits... there's the whole process I could go into great detail but I won't..

That small gold is like a virus, ya might get infected and only be able to get fine gold for the rest of your life! A little bit of gold fever therapy is better than no therapy!!

I wanted to add that all gold started out as lode gold, it became placer gold once it eroded out of the rock it was formed in, some lode gold formed/ precipitated out of solution in large masses, some form as little specks within the rock and some as crystalline pieces and or masses, the large solid masses would take eons to break down if ever into small specks because of gold being so malleable, the small specks being the majority of the gold in the world and is where most of the fine placer gold found today originated, the crystalline gold as it eroded out contributed to some of the small specks but some of the more tightly bound crystalline gold was beaten and pounded into nuggets of various sizes.

So hydrothermal gold is a myth?

I don't really know the terms and all that but I belive not all gold is lode gold. I belive some gold was spewed out of vents that where kinda like volcanos in a way. who knows...

I panned at a spring didn't get any gold when old faithful blew.. So I don't think that myth is true. The gold is in fault lines. I bet if you looked hard enough there was a fault somewhere that a glacier eons ago deposited your gold.

Have you seen my posts on the hydrothermal conglomerates and the gold from that upper layer that shot out of the vents? Have you never seen BB gold?..
I actually have specimens in Clemson's geology museum. I have discovered previously unrecorded events in the grand scheme of events in the upstate according to several professional geologists...

I stand corrected to a degree, of course there's hydrothermal gold, with some possible exceptions I'm not aware of, all lode gold is hydrothermal, the gold was in a super heated solution and force upwards into permeable rock, cracks, voids, etc. and as it cooled precipitated the gold out of solution, if a surface hydrothermal vent, such as the ones in Yellowstone is venting a solution that has gold in the solution it will precipitate the gold out as the solution cools, I can't tell you where within or out of the vent the gold will precipitate out, it all depends on the temperature of the solution, if the solution is still super heated after it exits the vent then the gold will precipitate out on the surface around the vent, if the solution has reach cooler temperatures before exiting the vent the gold will be precipitate out somewhere within the vent.
