noisyboy came up with this setup. He is trying to stop flat rocks from choking up the riffle system. Do you think this will effect gold recovery positively or negatively?

I kinda fill the same way james. Im not thinking its going to work as good as he thinks it is. It will stop the flat rock problem though. Thanks for the feed back.

I think a punchplate over the riffles will affect the riffle action no matter the size of the holes, the water flow will be dropping down on the riffles and not flowing over them as it should be doing, I don't see how you will achieve a low pressure area after each riffle, the water flow will not be great enough.

I'd up the size to 1/2 basket weave up front and put slick plate on the rear with a low profile ribbed mat.

Have him look at my over under conversion video. I ended up having flow issues with my mini 4in.
