If you are in a area where platinum has been found, it has a much higher specific gravity than gold, and is found in your cons lurking behind the gold.

Curious about that process as well. Is there a special method to collect or do you have the separate it from the gold at clean up?

Do you all find a lot of silver? Isn't silver easier to find, I still have yet to find any silver with my gold. Must be some old wise tales.

Silver is close to same weight as lead, about half the weight of gold and or platinum, so if you are getting lead and there's natural placer silver around it will be with the lead in your pan.
