I found this the other day while prospecting. It has a small pocket about 3" deep with what looks to be some clear crystals. Some of the crystals have a light yellow/orange tint to them, but that could be from staining. Not sure if this is anything special or just an ordinary quartz rock, but I wanted you guys to check it out. I like the way it looks now, but thought about cracking it open and taking a look see. I don't have the tools to cut it open, but I have a hammer and chisel somewhere.

Not sure how you would process that if you wanted to keep the crystals intact, but if ya was looking for gold, the hammer would be the choice

Hey Indy, thanks for the help with identifying the quartz. I find myself looking a lot closer at rocks now when I'm out prospecting.
I love finding gold, but looking for gemstones is becoming a new adventure for me :-)
