Last year Lawrence and I found our way to the rocky river. We decided to give it a shot. I decided to dredge first and Lawrence decide to pan a little and watch the sluice box. I was dredging in about 3 foot of water and it was murky so mostly I was felling around Bedrock cracks and so forth. At one point the sun came out real bright and I got about a foot of visibility so I was happy. A little later it got dark again but I was to excited to stop I started hearing noises over the dredge and the water over my back was getting cooler to the touch so I poked my head up to see what was going on. It was a monsoon type storm with light and thunder cracking all over the place!!! I thought Lawrence was Died because I didnt see him at first. When I did find him he was setting on a rock watching me dredge like there was no problem. We hurried to get off the river. We beat death that time. But the river had a new plan. The water came up so fast the wade to the rocky became a swim for your life ordeal back to the truck. The access was up a creek about a hundred yards. I really thought we was going to die. The dredge kept us a float but we had to swim from tree to tree to get back up to the truck. the current was to strong to swim directly against. I thanked god for saving us and we had a john boat the next time we went out there.

Big water and storms are not good at all. Another is falls. I fell a few months ago and my side missed my uprights on my riffle system by a few inches. If I had fell on them, I would have bleed to death before James and Mark could call for help. Extremely close call. It would have got a kidney or liver. My arms from that fall hurt me still to this day.
