My buddy found this metal detecting last winter. Don't know why he cleaned it up but I'll take it anyway. Still waiting on the invitation to metal detect that old plantation site, Ron.

There are 6 slightly different versions of that 1800 Draped Bust silver dollar but they all are valued about the same until you get up to the coins in the very best of condition, If it was PCGS graded, a MS4 would be around $1000, a MS12 around $1800, a MS30 around $3000, a MS40 around $5000, a MS55 around $11,500 to $19,500 depending on the version, A MS60 around $21,500 to $30,000 depending on the version, a MS62 around $38,500 to $57,000 depending on the version, a MS63 around $75,000 to $125,000 depending on the version, a MS64 $145,000 to $225,000 depending on the version, a MS65 around $450,000 no matter the version since there's not too many that will grade this high.
There are also many grades in between the above mentioned lower grades.
The above prices are just a guideline of what PCGS has seen the 1800 Draped Bust silver dollar coin/s sell for, the actual value of any coin is what someone who really wants it will pay.

What grade do you estimate this coin to be? I have collected coins and paper money from other areas all my life. Better drag some of them out and figure out what I have. Maybe I can retire and go prospecting for the big gold everyday with Ywevis.

I would say it at least in very good to fine condition which is close to a MS30, but not quite, but the fact that it has been cleaned will bring down it value, also the price show above are for a graded coin, non-graded coins will be about 30% less in value. If it had been sent to a grading service to be professionally cleaned and then graded, it would easily bring the $3000 price or more. Here's a link to PCGS' price guide/estimates, which could help you determine the high value for anything interesting that you may have in your collection, "key dates", e.g. low mintage, are the most valuable and vary depending on the coin/domination. www.pcgs.com/prices/
