What do you do when / if you don't own a dredge?

Well I'm digging up clay and quartz on a farm. I have found micron gold in this stuff but nothing much bigger than -30 mesh gold. I have a hammer drill to crash quartz up with. I'm not sure where it will go but I'm excited to learn the geology of the location. Shadows article on low sulfide quartz formation was cool to read. I will be able to apply the information to my next exploration of the property

If I can't use my dredge I use my sluice, Keene A-52, or my 2" Proline highbanker combo, or just a pan.
I would like to get a couple of the Angus MacKirk sluices to have in my truck to use at the spur of the moment testing or where the A-52 will not work well.

It's all about dredgin now.. don't have to work to hard, and I can lay in the water.. I don't want to see a shovel for a long time.

what happens when winter comes back? Keep dredging if you have heater setup.

what happens when winter comes back? What's winter, and I got a bunch of new creeks to test.. but the heater is a viable option, they do that crap in alaska..

For me depends on what is allowed on the property by the owners... No dredging/hi-banking in creek so limited to sluicing only, we make the most of it. I would love to take my dredge into where we usually go though. However I must say I can out sluice my 2" dredge most days with a shovel, classifier and a52 sluice... however there is nothing like being in the water with the hose and fishes.. lol.
The main reasons I love to sluice so much is no gas, quiet, easy to carry long distances.

Loki258 you are very right. Light, quiet, and cost effective. As for quartz and hammers easy maybe. But quartz will shatter and cut the hell outta you! I learned real quick face shields are my best friend. I want a rock crusher but can't justify the cost yet. I figure I could make one fairly easy. Just got to get the parts together. My focus is shifting toward dredging though. As the bugs begin to intensify their assault, best to get in the water and dredge.

Pops may not. I gotta dredge looking for some water. The big weather never really happened so. What's for this weekend.
