Nice vid, James. I think I would run just a tad faster though. Yes, you are correct with oversize engine and speed. My Grabber after several minutes will clean out smaller gravel and larger stone will collect some but does not load up box. It will have an inch of small material behind each riffle. In regards to tending, you don't want those hands in that box all the time. It will disrupt the process. I also put a piece of tape with mark on the throttle area so I can tell my running speed. Poor man's tac. Try speeding up a little and see if it cleans out better.

So you rather let your box load up?

Cool! You carried that monster in and out by yourself? If so, you are younger and stronger than many. Makes me sweat just to think about it. Lol. Nice gold. I see you are still hiding the big stuff!

Just testin a creek out Indy.. I know there is big gold there.. The smaller pieces were chunky.. Ya you should have seen me trying and thinking about moving that beast down there by myself.. It was a mighty long though process LOL. Then I had to remember about getting back out. Might go back this weekend with a keene 3 stage.

So you rather let your box load up? No just speed up your box to clear them. I don't have but about 5 tops in my box. I'll get more if they are real flat and especially if they wind up under the wire riffle supports. That's it.

What I hate are the ones around 3" wide and about 6" long and flat. They will jam up a 5" real bad before you can make a move to protect the nozzle. This is why I am wanting to cut down the length of my suction hose so I can ram it from both ends without a dead zone in the middle.

My hose is at 21' now plus jet, plus flair! I sure can reach out and touch something though. I bought the dredge with that length. Longer the hose, harder the motor must run. Maybe 12' for no more depth than I go in most creeks. Puts box closer to tend. Haven't decided yet.

I think with all that hose that you might have issues. Going deeper requires your engine to run faster and harder to move the material from the depths your talking about.
