I used to like them regular pans, but now I love that garrett super sluice pan.. them deep riffles really work to hold all the gold.

I would like to try one of them one day. I use the garrett pan now but it has the shallow riffles. Don't really care for the other fancier designs.

After using that big pan, the regular sized ones feel so small and dinky..

I use proline pans exclusively and have them in almost every available color with the deep blue and green being my favorite.

I'm with Mark. The Proline pans are indestructible. I love the blue color on the Keene pans because I can see the gold better and it makes for better looking video but they only last 5 minutes or 5 shovels, which ever comes first. Lol. I have gone to the smaller pans as old age is setting in. I gave Astro one of my 17 inch Proline pans I use as a safety pan and he uses it for panning. I could do that once upon a time. Never tried any of those odd shaped pans. Probably good but you know what they say about old dogs and new tricks.

I can pan with anything, I have panned with a shovel, a McDonald's cup and can use most anything you can think of or what's on hand if I don't have a pan, but my go too pan is a 14" Proline, and I own most all pans out there.
I have a Falcon fine gold pan for doing the final panning on the extremely fine gold that you can barely see.

I say we use a standard steel pan one day to see how much lead one can retain the fastest! Could be at a club event at that. Would be fun just to see. What say you?

We can do that with dinner rations as well. Similar to very cool stuff we did while reenacting Civil War hobby.
