Here is one found by my friend Ron, when diving. It's called black glass but it's actually dark green. At the time they were hand blowing these bottles they didn't know how to make clear glass. What makes this one especially nice is the cork and copper bail are still attached. This is mid 1700's to mid 1800's. I have found hundreds of broken pieces but only one complete black glass bottle. I noticed that the outfit working the Central America shipwreck is taking small pieces of these bottles and making them into expensive jewelry for sale. In the early to mid 80's I could fill my goodie bag with broken bottles like these. Now collectors and the SC Archaeology Dept. have cleaned this river out. The Cooper River was once great but it's mostly over now.

Here are a couple of closer shots of that bottle and bail. Bottle collecting has gotten crazy. People are paying a fortune for bottles others throw away. Just have to know what is hot.

WOW! Very cool. Wells and especially outhouse pits are good spots to look for stuff. They would hide valuables in them during the civil war.
Indy, My mothers boyfriend remembers playing in a cave or man made bunker in Charlotte, NC that housed and was full of Confederate weapons, uniforms, canteens, etc. He said his father would run them off from the area. He also said it is a parking lot for a store now. After digging around, I found info about the Golden Knights and the castles they had around the south. They even had their first national meeting in Raleigh, NC prior to CW. The Golden Knights were an off spring of Masonry and Jesse James and many others were members. They were the underground of the Confederacy. Would love to find that castle location. Most of the Texas castles have been found from what understand. Very interesting stuff. This is also discussed on the Treasure Net forum. You can goggle Knights of Golden Circle to see more info and minutes of the Raleigh, NC meeting.

Wow! That's a cool story cabarrusgold. Will check it out. Yep, Loki, an outhouse or marsh is a good place to treasure hunt. Well, most of the time. I wanted to dig and dive around this marsh in Charleston one day but someone didn't like my company. I left...Lol.

Guys... It's Knights of the Golden Circle or KGC. My bad.
This was off treasure Net. Cool stuff.
"Did you ever wonder who the Brothers of Lasting Faith handed over the torch to? From 1865 to 1930 they were still stirring up a stink in the U.S. Government. The old school Rebels in the K.G.C. had plenty of gold to fund many future investments and businesses in the U.S. and who better to take over the reigns than their offspring. These sons of the K.G.C. of old, were all prominent businessmen in the next century and beyond. It would shock you to know how many companies operating to this day that were funded by the Knights of the Golden Circle. L.C. Baker"
Talking about the caches or castle locations.
"Dont know what got into me today. I have never mentioned names before....but the information that i put out there wont harm anyone. I dont want to hurt the organization until I know their motive. Its a way of honoring my Great grandpa and great uncle. I believe that their intention is for the good of the American way of life as the constitution meant it to be. At least I hope so. If I find out otherwise...then I will give gps coordinates to caches...several of them in various states. Some are on military bases...but I have physically been to every one and done the legwork. "

And... my mother's boyfriend knows nothing about the KGC. I need to get him to tell me exactly where he played at when he was a boy. He is 80+ years old now.
