I originally got into the hobby of prospecting since I had a love for rocks and gems. Some stones that I got a while back in a penny auction.

Those are really nice. I don't facet and barely have a clue how to do freeforms and cabs but as soon as the garage is complete and I get moved in, I will start cutting a few stones with the cab gear. Sweet stones, Loki.

I am headed to the Franklin wholesale gem show this Saturday. Always buy a lot of goodies that I package and give to school kids when I do geology presentations. I used to do just one class or two a year but this winter I did 5 classes. Kids wiped me out! Lol. Guess I'll have to start digging and tumbling again. Have a huge tumbler and several smaller ones. Will post a pic of my large tumbler later today. It is a jar mill that I used to do metallurgy and technical ceramic R&D work with.

I would like to see that, I need a new tumbler and all the supplies. Lost mine when I moved... I am going to Diamond Hill mine Friday with my oldest daughter, hope to find some nice skeletals or points.

Here is the big roller mill, Loki. You should have no trouble finding lots of skeletal. It's the smokey and amy that's tough to get. Good luck.

I usually use silicon carbide of various grits. Also, alumina. BTW, the big can on the top is not a jar for the mill. Lol. I use nalgene, stainless or stoneware jars.
