I know that everyone starts off with a dredge, but has anyone changed to a different dredge after running their first dredge? I went with gold grabber, but when I upgrade from a 4 to something bigger I was thinking of going keene.
If a east coast dredge came out, would you feel more happy about buying a dredge from the east coast?

Well, I hope people on the east coast would prefer to buy from the east coast because im working on a model. will be releasing the 2 & 3 inch models first, but that's just a place to start. My drop riffle ABS sluices have been pretty successful but having that molded in the plastic does not scale up well to something you cant tip into a bucket, so im making an aluminum riffle that has much of the same fluid dynamics as the drop riffle. Ive been contemplating listing just pontoons as well as there are a lot of DIY people that want to build their own stuff but also use a std pontoon. The other companies charge a ridiculous price tag on pontoons, never mind the shipping. Only thing so far holding me back on the pontoons is I will have to switch to buying the monster size sheets and switch to freight truck delivery.... that makes sense at a certain scale so I will also have to switch to larger single purchases on supplies instead of spreading it out over the year as I need it. I also need to do all this without abandoning my core product motto of being light, portable, and reasonably priced, If I cant stick to that I wont do it at all

Have you seen the ridiculous prices just for a 4 inch pump that goes on the motor? They want like over 900 dollars for just the pump. That's crazy.

I would be interested in a replacement box for my 3 stage Keene. Would like a standard over under setup or a Dave McCracken design over under.

Keene sells the P-180 that is for the 4" dredge for $385, now if you referring too that pump with a 6.5 engine, then it's $843 for a B&S with a P-180 and $1029 for a Honda with a P-180, now if you want a compressor you're talking another $496 with the B&S with a T80 and $446 on the Honda, a Gast compressor will set you back another $805 for the Honda for total price of $1834, I don't see a B&S with a Gast on their site, if you get a complete setup with engine, pump, and compressor, it come already setup on with the engine on the mounting plate, the air snorkel, compressor belt adapter, belt, etc.

This was the business model for Allen's Gold Grabber or Dredgers Warehouse. He has stopped selling parts. I would not be comfortable with a drop riffle on a dredge. Another idea, would be to come out with some of us on these bigger dredges and see how they are made by different builders and see what is must have and what flaws are. I see them on all manufactures equipment.

My dream dredge would be a 2.5 Dahlke. Small enough for my old arse to haul round.

That place we went to on saturday a small 2.5 would get some epic clean outs.. the cracks in the bedrock are perfect for that small dredge we been talking about getting one for that area.
