New Zealand, you can dredge there and they have real good gold if you find a place that hasn't been hit too hard.

South Africa! The TauTona Mine or Western Deep No.3 Shaft. At 3.9 kilometers (2.4 mi) deep it is currently the world's deepest gold mine. Not to mention all the gems to be mined in the surrounding areas.

The gems in Africa I would enjoy finding and can be very profitable, but you can keep 2.4 miles underground to get some gold, man it gets hot down that deep even with proper ventilation, not to mention a lot of stuff can fall down on your head, HARD, I will stick to dredging!!

I'd like to go metal detecting in Australia and dredging in New Zealand. I'd probably end up staying in New Zealand if I ever make there tho.
