I tried those modified riffles and they were a pain in the rear to get setup right. Got rid of them. Maybe a forgiving setup so you don't have to fight it.

If he not gonna run the riffles, run bigger gauge expanded.

Here is a link to Heckler. hecklerfabrication.com/highbanker1020-C.html
I did notice they had a fine gold option with the smaller raised expanded. If using that, you will need to run motor slower if you are not running main sluice. Not sure how that will play out with a 4" suction nozzle with the volume of water needed for suction.

If you notice he did duplicate some of hecklers design. I suggested river hog to save time and frustration but he would've to buy at least 3 sections and that's over hundred bucks!!! So we will see what he comes up with.

If he would have went with the small expanded under and the heaver stuff over like a Keene 3 stage, that would reduce the volume of water for fine recovery and still have high volume to remove large rock of a 4" nozzle. With small expanded only, while pumping 4" material, there is really nothing to stop the heavies. On the plus side, the long box will clear out easy, but that is scary. Another reason for shorter boxes, riffles and a drop system.
