You and I must be twins Loki. I love the shrimp shack and shrimp sandwich. Too many years ago they also served boiled shrimp that was killer. Wish it would come back.
Yep the Broad, May, Jenkins Creek and other places are good for teeth. Looking forward to seeing your tooth, Gold Seeker.

My parents are long time friends of the Gay's and Causey's two of the main shrimpers for many years till the causey's stopped thanks to losing most the boats to hurricanes by the 90's and Wayne had brain cancer that took him too soon... God bless Wayne Causey he was my mentor in many ways when it came to Diving, teeth, and anything to do in the water or on land in Beaufort... His bottle collection was immense and extremely impressive as well as all the other artifacts he collected in between running shrimp boats. His wife Patty is still with us and the niece and granddaughter of the Gays that own the biggest shrimping company and the Shrimp Shack. I love the entire area and love to dive in the rivers that Wayne took us to. Too much time has passed and we need to get an outing for some black water diving!!!!

I have hundreds of these sandollars that were encased from the Sands as well, and some more recent teeth found a couple years back. The one to the far right is bone of some sort... indy or goldseeker any idea's??
You have to know the right tide and time of weather patterns to really have a good day here. The place has been picked over for as long as I can remember from at least back to 1982...
Pay close attention to the last pic there are actually 2 sand dollars in this encasing...
These are newer and extremely rare finds at the Sands now days... LOL

That's the old Spanish American fort we visited! We stayed at a bed and breakfast on that island, that road is supposed to be haunted. There is a model of that fort in the Paris Island museum with the gun. When I was there someone had painted graffiti all over it. Right outside someone property too. Very cool place.

Ya the locals really trashed the place... in the last few years it finally got protected and starting a major cleanup and beautification project. it's looking good now. We fish on the beach in front and swim and play all the time. We usually just walk down from dads places... we're that close.

That cannon was on hydraulics and would lower down to reload, then raise to re-fire. Amassing place!
